Hey. Aight... This is how far I've gotten with this. I'm trying to take an image of myself and make it look like graffiti.. or even something a bit more.. refined.. like wall art ud see on the side of a building or something. This is waht I have so far.. but.. it looks to.. perfect.. or it just doesnt look real enough to me.. I could really use some ideas. I've done it a few different ways, this one seems to look the *besT* so far.. but I don't really like it.. :S Help! Image is Here |

Well, there are a couple things that I would say. I have actually been planning to do this myself. I started off with doing it of the stanley cup, which you can see here: http://trhaynes.ionichost.com/stuff/hockey2.html But thats a different story. I got this tip from Paavo's grafitti tutorial: SHIFT-CTRL-click all the layers that are involved in the wall art. Then select the background layer (the picture/wall) and go CTRL-J. Then go SHIFT-CTRL-U and then CTRL-L and fool around with the levels until it looks good. (what this does is copies the background layer beneath your art, desaturates it, and changes the levels) But did you actually paint yourself with a graffiti brush? Or did you just enlarge and blur and set on overlay? It would look a lot better if you took a suitable brush (try "Natural Brushes") and painted over with colors on a new layer. You wouldnt be able to see as many details/wrinkles/text on your shirt. Then do paavo's copy-desaturate-levels I mentioned before. It looks alright now, though, if you dont want to change it - add a cool tag next to it and you have a winner. tom |
