Total N00b - Signature

Hey guys, i have no pad or anything, and just started doing some PS7 stuff about a month ago.

I have done enough to realize that filters generally aren't a good idea, and have been just experimenting with layers, general layout, and opacity settings.

Anyway, here's my signature:

Looks great, nice background and nice fonts, I see what you mean you played with layers and opacity settings but it's really the filters you want to get into if you want to make something nice, welcome aboard anyways :D

Oh man. U should find a good dark hiding place. Cause with a quote like that there sure will be a mob of angry PS'ers out for you!!!

Filters are only good if you use them wisely and use them only to accent a certain effect. Use them more like a last resort if layers/opacities/blending modes/Brushes fail you!

As to the sig......I like the bg. The text is a little hard to read since you have the opacity lowered. I would up it 100% (maybe 80). And yes...welcome!

i like the font on the right there.
but what does that say 'arachnid die for this' im not sure :S

it looks good man nice use of color too, and font.
also its a good size as well ;)

LOL, it says "And i'd die for this" Now that you mention it, the N does sort of look like an R.

Also, about the opacity settings, i kind of wanted it to be distant and harder to read than "Nos."

maybe up the opacity on that text just a teeny weeny bit for clarity

if you believe that filters is what PS is all about, then you surely have no art background. there isnt a COOL LAYOUT filter.

and i like the sig, it almost looks like the paper is burning.

Ok, i upped the opacity by about 8%.

I couldn't bare to bring it up anymore :'(
