Hey all, as you can see I'm new here, but I have nowhere else to go to express my love and dedication to photoshop...so hello again.

Anyway I've had photoshop about a year, recently upgraded to 7. I just want a few opinions on a few of the things I've done with it since then. This isn't all of my work by far, but I think these are the highlights.

You'll find them at
http://www.sia-cam.com/18273947/12396563721/21342349237ASH82383/images.html

Rushed effort, but they're all there. If you're wondering about the weird URL, these are posted on my dad's company site, and I wanted to make damn sure that no unsuspecting potential client would wander upon them :D. I put them there for the unlimited bandwith.

The first three are just some backgrounds I've done. The second one is originally 1280 x 1024, but my crappy free account doesn't let me upload anything over a meg. Plus I didn't feel like resizing it. The computer/shotgun....well my computer was being a bitch one day, so I made that. The one after that is just a girl I know, didn't include the original but I think you get the point. Took me about 4 hours. The girl with the car is my girlfriend with...her car. One after that is said girlfriend on pool table.

Quick question about those last three...as you can see, the faces look none too great. I just haven't been able to figure out how to do them well. On the pool table one I just gave up, as you can see. Any advice on how to do them?

And the last one is the very first thing I made.

So what do you think? My only venture into website design is my dad's site, which is at www.sia-cam.com. The main bulk of it doesn't look too great, but I think the intro page is nice enough.

Anyhow...again, just want to know what you all think, whether I should continue in my hobby or I'm just a lost cause :D . If for some crazy reason anyone wants the source files, I have a few I think. Thanks for any responses!:D

I'm not a big fan of the photoshop backgrounds and stuff you've got there - but I like the vector girls. Some more work on their faces would make them excellent, as well as a little more detail on the shadows of the pool balls. But thats really good vector work. Illustrator, right? I'd like to see some originals if you have them and its OK with your girlfriend.

heh yeah the backgrounds i never used long, but i keep them because i made them and I'm inclined to like them anyways. The first vector image of the girl that's standing up next to a door is my first try at something like that. I'll post the originals in a few minutes...

oh and they were done in PS. don't have illustrator

yea, the vector girls are cool :-). the bgs are too simple and assembly line for my tastes though. maybe put as much effort into them as you do the portraits?
