Here is an attempt at something new (or diff. from all my other works). I picked the moth...well mainly because I took this bitchin photo of one that flew into my kitchen lol. But i realized the moth can symbolize many things. A moth can be beautiful like a butterfly...with all its color and patterns and symbolize happiness or hope (basically have a butterfly "vibe"), yet a moth can also be ugly and symbolize death or similar topics/feelings. I tried to recreate that with this picture...its kinda scary yet has a strange fairy tale feeling. Day of the Moth ~130k |

Yes I agree with Malevolent - very likely one of your best works yet. You took more than one picture of the moth, right? Where did you get the picture of the woman? Was she a statue or did you make her that? Again, I really like this one. tom |

Thnx for the great comments! And yes thats more than 1 pic of a moth. Only like 3 though.... The woman ( i dont wanna blow my secret) is really a "De-poser-ized" Poser model. I posed her (in poser)...exported to 3dmax to smooth her out (poser models look like crap) and give her some GI (global illumination...it makes her look real). Then I redefined her figure using the eraser tool and used the clone stamp to repaint about 90% of her body. Thats how i got the woman lol (it was a lot of trouble...but i dont wanna buy stock photos/hire a model + i dont know anyone i can take a photo of lol). As to the statue part....well i had a high quality photo of cement (and a couple other textures...including wood ) laying around which set to overlay.... with some editing...comes out quite well. I repainted most of the cracks to really bring out the statue look...and i erased her hair completely and repainted that. As you can see....thats a bit of work. Maybe 3 days worth. Actually the worst part was the files size. This pic is originally 1000 x 1294. So with a 3d render of 2000x2000 and maybe 15 + quality 1600x1200 photos my "working" files size was 120MB's. My computer handled it fine until i wanted to zoom in!!!! (i crashed more than once lol.) |

That is very nice. Ive never seen anything that detailed made in PS by anyone. It's dark, yet it also has this feeling of fantasy like you said. Very nice.
