you should try and incorporate that effect into another picture, rather than relying on it to be the picture in itself, because like you said, looks rather empty...space...hah. :(

Yeah i agree with emptyspace. On its own it just doesnt have enough interest. But i think it would be great in something else.

All of your attempts lately are pretty good. But there is one thing thats not there....photos! You should start experimenting with them. To make a pure photoshop composition (no photos..just colors/filters) is probably the hardest thing you can do (unless your one of those gifted digital painting ppl who do work i cant even understand lol)
