Layout for a gaming site

I've been working on this for a guy at Nintendo Network, and just wanted to see what you guys thought of it. Anything I shoudl change?

I personally really like it. But anyway, check it out for yourselves.

That looks cool. The only thing I could suggest would be to get a higher res picture of Mario for the top-left. A promo shot would probably work best, unless theres some reason you used that specific image. Nice work though.

that image is going to be part of a random image script that changes the screenshot every time the page is viewed. its just the screen i chose for the first one, no big deal

boy you're really scared someone is going to steal your design - what's with the "not yours" watermark?

I think the header is a little crowded and the dark background does not compliment a toy related site....

other than that- it looks like an everyday portal - not something worth stealing...

I dont like it.
The background pictures aren't seamless so the sharp edges look, imo, bad.
Also, it does give the impression of clutteredness even though it kind of isnt. That might be hard to understand, lol.

mihai's got a point, do something to it to make it look different from the rest.

edit. one final thing, the font you chose to say "nintendo network" is ugly.

making it look different would be important to me, but since it is for a client, and the guy really likes it, it doesnt really bother me.

ah ok. yeah clients always first so keep it as it is.

The only thing I would do to it is use Verdana for the links because the current font is ugly. But I like the font for the headers of the links. Oh and to whoever said it was a toy site, Nintendo is not a toy.
