What its all about.

For my 200th post im getting back to the roots of it all. Inpspired by...well.. lack of a job is a good enough answer lol. Ive spent the last week in 3d max trying to finish off an old animation (ugh) when i thought...damn i miss photoshop! (seriously...i thought that...either 3d max is really hard or im too attached to photoshop..or maybe both). Anyway I closed max...got my camera and this is what came out. I originally was going for a business type photo (the whole pen on paper cliche used in every annual report/magazine). Then i found a magnifying glass and took out some money. It just came together nicely. I thought about taking this image in a couple directions...but i went with a non-creative business type style to enhance the meaning. (it isnt illegal to photograph money is it? lol)

yeah i kinda thought that. I originally had it horizontal at the top right...and it looked nice but i realized nothing in the image was horizontal. Because of that it formed a 70 degree angle with the pen and was really odd to look at. Maybe with a fresh eye I can fix it (or take it out...its not really an important piece).

I decided to take out the words love and happiness because they stem from the word artist. If you look at the magnifying glass..it actually has 2 lenses. The large 6x and a small 10x. If the large 6x lense doesnt reveal the meaning (upon closer inspection) then looking even closer (small 10x lense) might. Also i used the word artist (even though its a bit revealing about the meaning) because nothing in the image screams artist. Its looks more like an xray of a employees desk...rather than a piece of art. Also it ties in with the handwritten text nicely.

I think this is quite good. But i think the negative-effect is a bit overused.

And yeah the negative thing is done a bit. But most ppl just invert the pic to invert the pic. I tried to give it an x-ray like glow(it actually isnt a true invert.... I did a bit of editing to get the colors just right) to tie in with the "closer inspection" idea.
