I am on a role!!!! lol. Here is another creation. It started as a photograph of a flower (seriously). It actually is still a photo of a flower (you can see the resemblence in the photography section..i think its the 2nd to last photo i posted). Anyway....5 hours of intense work (most of it is painted by hand) and here it is. Sorry if it looks at all a bit trendy (grr). But I promise you its not. I also wanted this image to resemble a movie poster. (some kind of scifi 'ish movie that is)

Any c&c would be great. Also im not sure I used the best choice of font on the main phrases..just wonderin what ppl thought. I really want a bold san-sarif though (i think...im starting to second guess myself as i keep looking at it lol)

Edit: Also as im thinking about it.......i wouldnt mind doing a second version of this (it would be inverted...white vs.green). From just flipping the image..it looks excellent but i kinda feel weird about using the same pic twice (i dunno why). Maybe I could do a series or somethin?

You need 1 finger on the R button (blur tool) and one finger on th B button (very small soft white brush..low opacity). Next you need your pinky finger to hit z (zoom tool) and use your thumb to hit the space bar and drag your document. Then just zoom way in (500%) and start drawing. Then blur what you did. Then draw over it. Then blur it again. Then paint a small highlight over what you just did. Repeat this process on every detail and dont let up for about 4 hours!

This isnt a joke either! Thats exactly how I did it. my hand kinda hurts after being stretched like that. But you need to rotate between those tools and "build" up your image.

If enough request.....i could post a mini tut on this image...but that remains in question as of right now.

Anyways -
I would give all of the phrases periods or keep them all off. Also I would think about a different font for the phrases. But I love the graphic. Way to go.

Yeah typography is a bitch (especially when you have like 5 fonts). I kinda like the placement of the type (repeating the "diagonal" theme) but that type itself is boring. The brackets are interesting though. They add to that sci-fi theme.

And don't complain, I only use the default fonts that came with windows on my work too.

Im actually workin pretty hard on it now (fixing the text. Not the buying a book part..thats some other time when i find the money lol...although i did check bn.com). As im working with the text...im really seeing how bad the original is. Although i do like the contrast between the small text and the image...but still it does look horrible. Hopefully i'll update soon.

Middle Phrases: Changed Font (TNR i think)....made it 60% horizontal and gave it -25 tracking. I first had IMPACT but even though it looked good...it didnt fit with everything else.

"I am torn" Phrase - Turned it into a logo. TNR also...100% horizontal...increased tracking to 100. Hand painted all glows/shadows (no blur filters used). Only the wind filter was used slightly to give the text some texture.

Added a few other elements to go with the "movie poster" theme. All text in layer sets so i can take off any/all of it with no problem.

Actually i wished i had a nice "alien" like font for the logo (i could make one....ugh thats a lot of work) but i think it looks fine for now.

If there is anything else wrong...be sure to mention it (i love working on this image.)

Total time so far...~10 hours
