id say make a site in all html and ccs, once you master the idea of clean refreshing design, work on your images. I would take a look at some of dekers stuff, he does a good work using minimal for a professional look.

in reference to what michaelP was saying --> yeah a nice site doesn't have to be overly graphical most designers just make theirs like that for good buisness but alot don't.. *googles for some nice plain sites* here's a couple I found http://altsense.net/ http://www.threeoh.com http://www.ourcommon.com http://www.onetwentyeight.com/ but also there's those 1337 graphical sites like http://www.shadowness.com however the current version isn't as cool as the last http://www.onyro.com/ http://www.pixelranger.com/ anyway! good luck just dont' give up --- but yeah don't worry about cell's if you slice in photoshop it does it for you just get the slice tool and make the lil boxes once you have it all done click switch to image ready, or save the file close photoshop and open image ready and then click save optimized as and click html |
