Schoolrock poster

This poster got printed 3000x on 70x50cm paper
That's about 27x19 inch

The space at the bottom is normally filled with ugly sponsor logos :rolleyes:

Can't change anything but it would be cool if you still commented :D

Very nice, I like the colours and composition. Only thing i think could be better is that 3d shape at the bottom. Good job!

The poster itself is definately, the composition, the colors... everything.

I would just take the 3D shape thats on the bottom, and put another one just like it on top... and a skinny little 3D shape on the sides. It looks a little incomplete with only a little bit of shape.

at first glance -- awesome -- sharp well layed out
but then i decided that some of the text that resembles the bg color gets a little lost...
and all tho -- i lov the vector shape at the top -- i just can't decide what it is -- Penguin maybe -- in and of itself it looks great but id say it needs more definition

and yet i know its final -- i still like it

i think there is way too many different things going on at once. you have a real picture of a backpack up the top then you have some wires and a logo then comes the type. and then the bottom it becomes 3d for some reason. just seems to me that you threw way too many different looks in one piece. nothing really flows together. if i did have to do it. i would get rid of the wires, the bottom. and change the backpack to a vector image or atleast move it to the bottom left so people dont see it.

yea redeye that's also what I felt at one point. I started out with the bottom with that 3d stuff then I kindoff lost the inspiration on that part and started to use flat shapes. Since I also had a very sharp deadline I didn't want to change it, plus i thought it was a pretty cool 3d shape

And about the backpack.. that's sponsering stuff, those guys payed $2000 to get their logo and the backpack in there. In the final version, the backpack at the top is gone and replaced by two bigger ones in the bottom corners.

The logo had the top had to be changed to fullfill the sponsors needs.

I more or less agree with redeye, too many styles, but the thing that bothers me most is the typography which is definitely out of tune with the rest of the poster

The color scheme is good, various shades of red and black and white.

the 3D-stuff at the bottom was the way to go. You should have placed something similar but smaller at the top too (and not put the logo's too big over it)
Also, you should have chosen two fonts that could go with that style, but not plain Arial. One for the titles, one for content.

the repeat logo in the background is good, gives some texture to an otherwise plain red background.

a few more tips: Stanley (NOT Staneley), leech should have a capital like the other bands

I called to change Staneley into Stanley about 3 minutes before i was about to be printed *whew*

leech is without capital because the band wants it be written that way :D

i think the final version is much better... the logos on the bottom do hide most of the 3d stuff. but that Bacob logo really hurts its alot. but the bottom looks a lot better.
