It might look slicker if you removed the background - At the moment it is obvious that the shpere is transparent, removing the background would give the illusion of it being reflective.

That looks pretty cool same thing you did for the teamps splashes that you posted not to long ago... I wouldnt mind seeing a tut on this either its kindof interesting

it's the lens flare filter right - then you used the polar coordinates - I saw that one on wastedyouth long ago - wonder what happened to it...
