my friend has a website and he wants me to help him design some logos and stuff... tell me what you think of this... (on black background just so its not on a white one...

That took you two seconds... spend more time on it. It also is not a logo... I don't know I just don't like it! I'm not trying to be mean, I just don't. Seems too boring.... LET LOOSE! BE CREATIVE! Don't be scared! It won't bite :D

But I'm not kidding, I don't like it. You got a nice start but finish it! Oh and horrible font.

I personaly like it, but I'de change a few things about it.
I would make the gate stand out a bit more, it's sort of hard to tell what it is. I would also remove/replace those random squiggly lines... never been a fan of random squiggly lines.

change the font, do something with the white space

you can do it, just needs a bit more .......

its got potential
but its more of a banner than a logo

and make the logo more defined -- meaning stay away from b/w - colored images for logo's
vectors work best as u started with the main symbol in your image

Its not as great as cupto makes it out to be. But I agree with the others - too much white space and too plain. But maybe that's what you're looking for, I don't know.
