Very good for your first try. I think you could simplify it a little more. The edges seem pretty complex. I would try smoothing them out a little. And making the grey shadow areas smoother too. Unless you are just going for that look. Her one ear is looking a little crazy. I would take that part off and just make it black or something. Great for your first try though.

Yea, I had the same concerns but I thought it looked good enough for my first try. Maybe on my next one it will look cleaner.

The complexity on the legs makes her look somewhat chunky.

Yea, now that I look at it more it does look like I went over board with the shadows. I'm working on a new peace and the shadows are less pronounced. I'm also adding detail to the face this time. I've also noticed that my current peace is going by much faster.

umm, after I finish the one I'm doing I can write up a simple tut on how to design part of the body.
