How did you decide where to put the different shades?
My guess is: You used shadows from the original picture as reference, and somewhat improvised. Maybe not? :/

i think it looks great as far as concept and design goes... but who wears shirts with images that take up the whole front like that?...

Kid, great work. I just have one question. How do you create a line in Illustrator that starts off with size 2 width and ends with size 1 width?

some points of critique:

* the text... I don't really like the text and think the shirt would look better without.
* printability, I don't think it's possible to print this t-shirt. It goes all the way up to the collar. It's hard to print on collars.
