Check out my eyez. Oh - and before anyone says so - I will deal with the too visible, not feathered enough bluish haze around them...

Am I one?

I like the picture, I don't think the haze is a problem, I do think the blending with the background face bit should be more subtle and/or gentle. Apart from that, it looks pretty, what more could you want?

:D

Not so much a comment on your work as a question (no inference meant). Do you have a concept or a goal in mind before you start or does your work take on a transience when you start it?

well - it depends on the work - if it's paid work - you bet - most of the clients are conservative anyway and I have to do it "by the book" - they want plans and development strategies shown to them so...
when I do stuff for fun sometimes I just let my mind wander and see what I come up with - In this particular case I wanted to see just how much of a 3d look I can achieve for standalone objects - like the eyes - not a very convincing one though . if you look at the face on the background of the image you'll see I'm a little better with faking realism when the objects (the eye) have a bit of "environmental support."
then again some other times I start with one idea - then halfway through the work I see something else in it and develop that particular aspect rather than my initial project...I'm sure this happens to a lot of people - at least I think so -
...was that helpful?
