first attempt...

this is my first attempt at full-on art from my fingertips.

i've been using photoshop for photo manipulation mainly so i thought i might try to broaden my horizons after seeing all the outstanding work on these boards.

this is also my first step out of the tutorial age(hopefully).

looks really good!! but the handle coudl use soem worj an so could the swirly rope thingie

Yeah, the handle needs some rounding..it's not in the right perspective and that crap..

Other than that, it's a hell of a start.

Got damn pop ups!!!
Well as all ready said the handle could use some work...
And the bg looks like a filter which I don't like...
But from the handle up...
That's really nice!

Pop ups are by far the worst part...

tweak the perspective of the handle a bit, and round out the grip part by adding shading on the top and bottom, but be sure to stay true to your light source.

keep working on it though, you're not too far off.

umm ok. the consensus seems to be that the handle is off. here is my first attempt at fixing my first attempt :D
