Thanks for the comments... I unveiled it for them last evening as a print on 13 inch x 19 inch paper. I'm always nervous when showing a portrait for the first time to the subject(s)... but they loved it.

Done start to finish in Photoshop from a reference photo that I took during a portrait sitting session for the painting. The image is 4757 pixels x 3426 pixels. That's roughly 12" x 18" at 300ppi. It could be printed with good results at sizes up to 24 " x 36".

Philip: Do you do your own archival printing, or do you outsource? What type of printer / media do you like to print on?

I can print archivally on paper up to 19" x 13". For larger prints I would need to outsource to a digital print house.

I use an Epson 2000p six color printer that is designed to use archival inks. I also have a Niagra continuous ink feed system on it so that I don't have to spend sooooo much money on Epson carts. It works really well. Info on the continuous ink feed systems for printers can be found at http://www.mediastreet.com . They're made for most Epson printers, archival or regular... Save a great deal of money if you print a lot.
