Newbie - first splash attempt

Hey guys. I just joined this forum today. I spent the last two days trying to learn photoshop... I was going nowhere until I finally gave up on trying to learn on my own and looked at a bunch of tutorials. I sorta put em all together in this splash screen I created about 30minutes ago. Lemme know what you think. Its a pretty simple design I suppose.

Any input is appreciated - Once I got that middle thing lookin like I wanted.. I didnt really know what else to put because it looked "naked" So I threw in some HTML code on the left and a picture of a blurred sunset (cant tell) in the background, the arrow things, and the grid stripes. All in all I think it looks pretty cool. I need to get 3d studio max so I can really implement some cool 3D designz. I'll be posting more and more trying to tame this wild horse you call Photoshop.

But then when I read that it was made with Photoshop, then it changes...
Very nice if you just started...

Youd laugh if I told you how it was done... It was REALLY simple (Im sure you've figured out how to do it already) Only part I got lucky on was making it look 3D.. that was a suprising bonus from screwin around with it - looked kinda cheesy before I did it.

What to make next.... where do you guys/gals get your idea to make stuff? Ive been seeing that style I made on some website and tried to duplicate it.

I'd say I've got quite an original style and you might be inpired.

I get ideas from images, photos, TV, films, thought, feeling, everything, sometimes visual ideas just pop into my haed and I have to go make it in photoshop.

it's damn good for a 2 day pser, altough they are tuts, it's still pretty good
