I'd actually keep it more 2D, with losing the ONE shading that there is now. This is more of a vector-thingie, and those look cool strictly 2D IMHO.

i think the eyes could have some more texture, not a plain color. or at least a natural color

i said more '3d' but it's not really 3d; just add 2-3 shadows
