This started out as a photograph. I was trying to give it the feel of a drawing... Edit : Do you get the feeling that this is a drawing is? |

It looks to me that it was ran through a few filters, if not one, and completed within 2 minutes.

Simple, but effective. I think it could be a good starting point, but I don't think it looks enough like a drawing. Think about if you were drawing it, which parts would you use a thicker or finer pencil/chalk/charcoal/etc for, and then make it reflect in the image. Also try scanning some paper in and putting it on top of you pic and setting it's blending mode to softlight and play about with the opacity. |

at0mic: Is the original photograph yours? I only ask because I would be interested in seeing the original, it looks like a great shot. I think you could do more with it to make it look like a sketch. Amazingly even with all the detail that's missing, the image still has a strong presence, which is unusual for such a simple sketch effect. Usually they destroy images. Obviously you have rendered different parts selectively, but I would like to just see you try something with more detail, a finer effect. You never know, the simple may still be the best. And I'm still saving this to my desktop, so that says something... Nice work. |
