hi all this site design is for an item database script that is currently being designed. its purpose is to list items, weapons, etc..... in games (MMOG genre) in a categorized database. the design isnt complete yet i just wanted some critiqueing of it. this is what the current version looks like:http://www.gatecentral.net/forumreference/item%20database/itemdatabase-layout-test-04.jpg the gameport image there is our ad banner in the next version im going to be taking the background colours down a notch. black will go to dark gray and the dark gray will go to a mid level gray also the gears in use are not the gears i plan to have in the finished product. those 2 are there right now to give me a general idea of the finished product. i plan on putting in 3 different gears on the left hand side of the header, in 3 different sizes and configurations. i also plan on using a rust texture on them or some other way of making them look a bit aged. on the right hand side of the page i plan on putting in text the words "Gate Network Item Database" in a yet undetermined font. As well as maybe one or 2 more smaller gears to offset the text. thoughts? comments? thanks -mala |

thats nice and simple. I like it. The second one, the gears look too 2d, too dark, don't reallt match very well, it makes 1st one look better. I f you get the first gears and make it lighter, then ad splotches of rust, mebbe a few cracks, it would look awsome. And it would match really well w/ the orange i think. Wrong Forum |
