what to look for in a digicam?

i've been looking at cameras in about this range as well and i read TONS of reviews and initially narrowed it to 3:

canon powershot a40
fuji finepix 2800 zoom
nikon coolpix 775

from this i went out and looked at the cameras and held them in my hand, played with them, etc., and ruled out the nikon because its a bit small. i like both the fuji and the canon, and i think i'll probably end up going with the canon as i can shoot in a manual mode with it (adjustable shutter speed and aperture) tho the fuji has a better zoom. hope that helps.

yea thanks, great to hear some 'hands on' feedback, so to speak. it'll be awhile before i can get to a store though
