I talked with my dad who have had photographing as a hobby all his life.
He told me a little hint that actually wasn't that dumb and I had never thought of it before...

When you are taking a photograph with your tripod, I always thought it would become really sharp...but then I noticed that sometimes the photos still becomes a bit blurry and I didn't know why...at least if you don't have enough light and you don't want to use the flash...
Well he told me to put the self timer on and step away from the camera...then it wont move an inch...
I think it's pretty smart...and I don't know why I never thought of it...
But now I use this techinque all the time and it's much better...

Just thought I would share this little secret if you aren't doing it from before...

Good tip.....unless its a windy day lol. But yeah you still could shake the tripod....especially if you have very shaky hands. I do...and it has ruined many many good pictures lol. I can hold maybe a 1/30 steady....but anything greater i tend to mess up.

I do that all the time - my hands are shaky too - plus - your shadow sometimes confuses the camera....

as for the wind...yeah true - just lay low and keep your hands on two tripod legs at the base - and press down towards the earth. Bigshots photographers (hihi) - use really really expensive wooden tripods - because wood absorbs vibration better than metal or plastic - and they hate even the vibrations caused by passing cars

Or if your camera supports it you can get one of those little wire things that stick out from the camera and control the shutter. That way your hand doesn't have to be on it. But only really expensive digital cameras support those...

Haha, that is smart! I've gotten a few 1/15 and 1/8's... by hand to come out... Probably just lucky...

Yeah, I do this all the time... it works really well unless something happens durring the picture like some people walk by or something. Other than that though it works really good. Plus it gives you a chance to look for another great shot while the one your taking gets done
