Id say they probably have been retouched.....things like colors, softening the blurs (most photo's are) but most of those blurs you can achieve in camera. So "photoshopped".....id say no. But "tweaked" id say yes.

Yeah I have to agree with Rodder on this one as well. Achieving that blur with a camera really isnt that hard, you just have to know what your doing with shutter speed, and a few other things. But I think its possible....

I agree. Mind you, it takes some very expensive equipment and very extensive know-how, but it can be done.
I agree. Mind you, it takes some very expensive equipment and very extensive know-how, but it can be done.
that's what i suspected.....good thinig we've got photoshops motion and gaussian blur.......much easier and cheaper...and the effect is practically the same. |

yeah, but believe me, the dude taking those pictures is making so much more money than if he'd have taken half-ass shots and then 'shopped them.

I saw 2 that are definately photoshopped, but yes it is definately possible to take shots like this..it is called panning...it means that you move with the subject as you take the photo so the background blurs but the object is in clear focus..not that hard to do as long as you have a steady hand and good eye hand coordination...Aperature and shutter speed settings are also very important...

Here is an example of panning I took today on my front porch...the cars are only going 35 MPH so the background isn't that blurred but at a higher rate of speed the background would be way blurrier... Hope that helps you understand better!!! Alyssa |

What kinda shutter do you need for that? I imagine its gotta be fairly fast to keep the car in such good focus.
