SHould I buy a brand new Fuji S7000Z for $1150 CAD or a used Sony DSC-F717 with a $400 digi flash and a 128 mb stick for $980. Both are the exact prices. |

I would personally go with the S7000. I have been looking into the S5000 quite extensively, as it is more in my price range, but have chosen to go with the Minolta Z1 because of its faster shutter speed. But the S7000 would be my camera of choice in that price range. The next step up for me would be the Canon Digital Rebel. But the S7000 looks awesome... 6mp, good zoom, fast shutter, manual focus ring, etc. |

Yea, but like the DSC-F717 with a $400 digi flash and 128mb card? Like I just dunno. Like I would be paying almost an extra $300 for the S7000Z.

I dunno man, I'd still personally choose the S7000. I always thought that Sony looked really goofy. And you can get a 128mb card for $50 so that isn't much of an incentive. Though the flash would be nice i suppose.

Digital Rebel is your new buddy. 6.3 Megapixels & exchangeable lens. 'nuff said. Fuji makes a good product, too, though - Not really big on Sony cameras, but that's just me... keep us posted, eh? |

Yea, but I can't buy the Rebel, it's 1599 CAD and add taxes on that. Its pretty pricey.

And the rebel doesn't even come with a memory card or anything. i saw one tonight at circuit city, it was huge! i don't think i need all of those features right now. i'll be happy with my Z1 or S5000 I think. |

I don't have anything right now, but I will likely be buying the S5000 or Minolta Z1 before the end of the year.
