I am about to buy a Nikon Coolpix 5000. Can't quite afford the 5700. Wonder what I'll miss out on...anything? I'm also interested in resources for this camera...like possible firmware upgrades. Any Aussies out there know the best place to buy one? |

Dont buy a Nikon point and shoot. Their shutter lag is the biggest inconvenience, its that bad, far worst then most digital cameras. I dread using my friends 5700. He has the slide adapter on it to put his slides on disk and it takes forever doing it. However if you save up to buy an S2 or D1, you dont even notice the lag. Try looking at a Fuji S602/601 or an olympus C4000.
