hehe joe I haven't really decided yet :( but the sony looks soo pretty! reviews seemed good, its usb.. but yeah like you said I can't just go out and swap memory with someone :( but on the other side the sony is cheaper than the nikon I was looking at, and picture quality is supposed to be better.. I dunno, I'm taking a day to shop around and look at some nikon's a canon, and my sony :D hopefully I'll get a good one |

I think swapping the memory from camera to camera is like sharing a roll of film. You don't have to do it if you buy enough. I have three sticks of memory, 2-128mb and 1-16mb. The only reason I might need more is if I'm going on a 12 day hike or something. Regardless, I love my Sony DSC-F707. Anyway, good luck in your search. |

I use a Canon EOS5 and a slide scanner, I find digital still doesn't give as good results. However I do own a couple of Sony digital cameras and I'm looking to invest in the Canon 8mega pixel effort they are bringing out next year. Shhh... it's still a secret!

That might be because of the cameras you're using. ;) I know several professional photographers who are in the process of selling their F5's and medium formats to go all digital. Because digital IS as good as (or better than) film, and is getting even better, the fear is that the market for film cameras/equipment is going to drop rapidly in the somewhat near future. Once you get your digital Canon you'll see just how good digital can be. |

You are quite right, the dygital cameras I have are not as good as the slides / scanner system that I have been using for the past few years, and the system is still much better than most. But short of spending £2500 on a camera that will be replaced next year, I think I'll hang on for a bit! :p
