I am just learning dreamweaver and I have designed my webpages but I cannot figure out how to upload them to the internet. I'm thinking my local or my remote information is incorrect. from my remote information: Access: FTP FTP host: web.qx.net Host Directory: Login: rjneuzel (which is my user name) Password: ***** (my password) from my local information: HTTP address: http://web.qx.net/rjneuzel Any help anyone could provide to me would be greatly appriciated thanks, Senna |

try putting the "rjneuzel" in the "host directory" field everything else look right to me. also, if you copied and pasted the password into the field, make sure you didn't have a leading or trailing "space" |

I am getting a green light. I contacted there customer support and the guy wasn't very helpful. When I connected it brought down all the remote folder from other people who have websites. Of course I can't access them. The support guy said there is a file at the end of the long list call index.htmAU3bDycb}s he said I need to replace that file with a file on my local site called index.htm(not that specific name but pretty close. He just said replace the index file on the remote with an index file on the local). I don't have a file called index on my site. Am I suppose to change my mainpage to index.html? I'm not sure how to make the switch from changing the remote name to the local name. I know this is confusing but I'm confused. I'm pretty new to this whole website thing anyway so I'm easily confused. I hope this makes sence. Any help you could provide me would really help. Thanks, Senna |

you'd maybe prefer to use a stand alone ftp program instead easier to use, i'd recommend wsftp ok every server needs an index page so that if you call a folder so set your home page to index.html, index.htm |

I have downloaded ws_ftp but I am not sure how to use it. Would you mind giving me step-step instructions? Also, Were you saying that I need to make my mainpage file(the page that pops up first) called index or were you saying my folder. The way I currently have it is my folder is C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\Website\ with my mainpage called "mainpage". I have changed that page to index.html Sorry for all the questions but I have spend a little time designing my page but not being able to display it is frustrating. Thanks again, Senna |
