Please help me with a search engine

I must do an exam in a few days and I have to make a real small internet page that can make a search over the internet (via a search engine like google, altavista, etc.) and over my computer. In particular I need a web page with only a search form in which the user types for example a file in my computer. I don't know exactly how to do it. It must be a very simple thing but I don't know if is better a cgi script or using asp.
Please help me....the exam is the fisrt days of september.
