My God.. Flash MX is tough to learn..

yeah I have been trying to learn it too...but with no luck...
I usually don't like flash at all...but I need to know how it works for the clients...
See this is why we should have a irc room where everyone could help eachother!
I know there are alot of tutorials...but I hate tutorials...
They are like, this is how you make this one flash clock or something... I would want to learn the whole thing...

I just picked up Advanced PHP for Flash by Friends of Ed and find it pretty cool. I haven't done much yet, but built a button component (from the Chat room chapter) and read a few chapters. Learned a bit so far. I find FoE books better explained than New Riders Books. But I miss having a disk with the source files. (haven't checked if they are downloadable off their site - probably are.)

My tip: Practice & Experiment a lot!

So, do you have to learn Actionscripting, or just animation? Animation is pretty easy. Actionscripting is hard.

If you want to learn how to use Flash, then yes you need to learn Actionscripting.
