I'm making an RPG in flash (havent we all...) it's in 2*1 isometric view (like habbo hotel) and i have a problem; I have one layer with the picture of the item and another with the box at the base of it for the character to hit it and stop. [The object is like a diamond] I can make him hit the object and stop fine. But because u need to make the hitBox a symbol/Instance (to give it an instance name) it cuts the corner off and makes the corners transparent. which means you hit them when walking by. :( help! |

k, that makes much more sense try just drawing a diamond-shaped area for your hit area, don't see why it wouldn't work. cool stuff btw, i'm interested to see the final product on this. chris |

well that's the thing; when i draw the diamond - which i did, it'd be fine. But when you make that shape a Instance flash has to draw a boudary around it (green line) and the hitTest checks the boundary not the shape :( [ www.re-fresh.tk (others > RPGame) -for info on the RPG so far including problems faced and areas being designsed ] |
