Hey guys, I was wondering how to preserve the transparency in image files. I usually use Photoshop for making JPEGs, and once I save it in the JPG or GIF format, it makes a white background. How to I preserve the transparency? |

jpg's cannot have transparency i believe. The only two formats that will support it are .png and .gif.

yup, you are correct mi lo fu. nsx, in photoshop have a background layer with the color you'll want to put your transparent image over and let all the layers above it be the areas you'll want for transparency. turn off the bg layer, check the transparency box under your save for web options and pick the background color as your matte and you should be good to go. chris |
