Softimage

I would just wanted to know who of you is using Softimage XSI v3.0 before i have used Maya and Max but Softimage is so much better just wanted to know your reactions?

i dont really think one 3d package is better than another. its all a matter of how long uve worked w/ it and what u can produce out of it. ive seen some really cool stuff from maya, max, softimage, lw, and cinema 4d. its hard to say one package can do more.

yes your right i am using softimage now for 2 years and i love it, but i know what to use it for so then its easy to put my design i made in photoshop in softimage for presentation, before i used maya and i think softimage workes really good

have a look at the galleries at www.renderosity.com I myself use just Cinema 4D and have got a firm grip of it. It can create some pretty realistic stuff and the tools are exteremely powerful and easy to use. I have Maya PLE....it's a lot to learn! Softimage is taking off at this stage. It's being used in quite a lot of feature films alongside Maya and houdini etc.

i'm learning with the maya PLE right now...challenging but some cool stuff. if i could afford soft xsi it'd be awesome but there's a much better chance of me buying maya so we shall see...

fig...i'm new to maya PLE too...try and create some fireworks...the kicks ass and are simple to make. Also, create a sphere, select it and go 'create fire' and guess what it does!

cool cyb, i'll check it out. i'm currently trying to decide what i want to invest in as far as 3d software. yes, i'm an idiot, sold off my license of lightwave 5.5 and now a few months later...i want it back :p
