how do you merge shapes in 3DS Max? I got a rough idea it's the Merge Compound thing but how do you use the tool? I'm pulling out my hair here!

yes, i read the manual....it tells you how to use the merging thing, but doesn't explain the thing i want...and I found out it's not the tool i want. I need something that makes lava-lamp style merging thing...like metaballs. any suggestions? |

Metaballs by nature join when they are in each other's vicinity. Even in the editor window you should see your two spheres merge when in a metaball..just look under metaballs in your manual.

Hehe, giggles @ Cyb. (should read "laughs at not spoken accusations") Satanclaus, we've all been there, i think. I do have 3DSM aswell, but can't help. 'Cuz I can't really figure that manual out either, it's to...eh...general in some way...I don't know how to put this in english...When I want to get help or advice in a situation, the manual really don't help me (or I'm just plain dumb) with that specific thing I'm after...just what tools I should be using or somethin like that...Ah, nev'a mind me... Go find tutorial sites and go from there, that's what I do... |
