Hey everyone, This is my first time posting on here, but I've been wanting to figure out how to add some color to a B&W image. Ya know make the person's coat in the picture blue or something like that. Is there a way to do that without using the paint brush and all that? Thanks a lot. CMSUpilot |

:D Couple of ways. One, make a new layer. Use the lasso tool to select the area for the color to be added, then fill the selection with that color. Then set that layer's Blending Mode to Color. Two, like the above, except use the paintbrush tool. |

About the blandinf mode... Other mode may also be used for this... Soft light = Grant fo pastel tone (less bright color) Overlay = Great rrsult on low opacity for subtlwe change (A yellow layer with 5 % opacity add a good impression of a warmer image Hard light = Really put the accent on the color (but you may loose details) Try other mode to.... |

Just in case you didn't understand Delisk: About the blending mode, other modes may also be used for this... Soft light = Great for pastel tone. (less bright color) Overlay = Great result on low opacity for a subtle change (A yellow layer with 5% opacity would add a good impression of a warmer image ) Hard light = Really put the accent on the color (but you may lose details) Try other mode too.... |
