Is there a way to print out a list of your fonts for reference? It would be nice to have a document like this.

For Mac users, one of the best font collection display and printing utilites I've found is called FontGander.

You'll have t get other input here if you're using a windows machine, but I'm sure there are good ones. Even Adobe's TypeManagerDeluxe can print a list for you.

Yup, Adobe Type Manager is pretty slick for PC. I think for the Macs at work we use Font Manager.

I just checked out ATM and it seems to fit the bill. To bad that it does not run native in X.
