Like in the Matrix, how to make the bullet trail effect? Maybe create some sort of wave brush? |

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. Do you have a link to something similar? Can you give us a little more info? |

Ahhhh!, I just caught on... Popped in the DVD you mean the seemingly displaced air as the bullet travels. Let me tinker with that a little....I'll see if I can come up with something similar. Maybe someone will chime in with a hint or two. |

This one just popped in my head when you mentioned it. Maybe using the water drop effect in the tutorial below. You could make a series a droplets and toy with their shape and opacity and line them up. Maybe toss in a motion blur when all is said and done......just an idea. I'm at work,, and can't play around with it! the tut. is here: http://www.teamphotoshop.com/photoshop/tutorials/techniques/drop2/dropphoto.php Later, Justin |

REAL good idea Grass, using that tutorial in conjunction with a little motion blur and maybe a tiny bit of ripple filter, "should" give you a pretty good clone of the effect. I toyed with this a little bit before reading Justin's post, and to get the initial shape I just used a "hard" paintbrush to draw the shape on a layer by itself. I was playing around with the ripple filter and blendmodes but never really got anything I'd show anyone. ;) I'm gonna roll across the room and go give Justin's idea a try.... |
