Black & White Image with Some Colored areas |

Hello Have you ever seen one of those black & White images with some colored areas in them such as the eyes or maybe a flower etc.?? I was wondering if anyone here had any tips to create this type of coloring in Photoshop 6 Thanks gang :confused: |

If the area you wanted to color is like within a basic shape with a single color, etc. (like you want to color a girl's coat like in Schindler's List, good movie btw) you can set the whole image to grayscale (Image->Mode->Grayscale) then set it back to RGB (Image->Mode->RGB). Then, in a new layer above it, you can fill in the area with the color of your choice with either the lasso + bucket tool, or the paintbrush tool. Then once you do that, set the Blending mode of the colored area to Color. If this wasn't the answer to your question, post an example so it would be easier for us to help you. |

After playing around with it a little here is how I figured it out. 1. Opened the image 2. Selected all of the image 3. Copied the image (Crtl +C) 4. Desaturated the image (turned it into black and white) 5. Added new layer 6. Hit Crtl.+ V - pasted the original image in a new layer 7. Used my eraser tool to erase what I DIDN't want to be in color. Voila! |
