Beginner needs a Triangle (duh)

Hi There,
Dumb Question but while i am new and have been doing some good work via the tuts. I cant seem to create a triangle and fill it.
Could someone please help?

1) Pen tool
2) Make a rectangular marquee, then fill it with a color, then do Edit>Transform>Perspective. Press Enter and you are done with that way.

Or use the polygon tool and set it to 3 sides
