Ok, call me crazy, or maybe I'm just forgetting something. But when I use the type tool in Photoshop 7.0 I don't see what I am typing. I just tried a basic image of black background with white text and I didn't see any of the letters I was typing... why not?

I didn't have black on black. It was white on black, that is why I am confused.

is the black background layer on top of the text layer? Usually, when you start a graphic, the background remains the background, unless you delete it or double-click on it. So if you just started a new graphic and made the background black (or white), you should be able to use the type tool and see what you are typing. Unless, like has already been said, that you are using the same color text as the color of the background. |

Make sure the text options is set on 'create a new text layer' rather than 'create a new text mask or selection'.

Ok, I figured it out. It must have been a momentary glitch, because I changed font and it went back to normal. Thanks for your help =)
