I have a series of photos that I need to convert for use on the web. They all exist as either jpeg or psd files. Each will have the same 4 digit prefix, then the photo name, and the file format. I want to use actions to convert all of these with a simple push of the button. When I do the record actions, I can get PS to do everything I want, except it is naming all the photos the same. Two questions-Is there a way to edit actions and how, and two, how can I set it up so the 4 digit extension remains but the name changed with the file?

These are all properties. The four digit number is a month/date prefix, i.e 0402 (April of 2002) followed by a street name (JStreet), so I end up with 0402JSt.jpg, 0402Highway126.jpg and so forth. If I use actions, I can get them all into the format I want (72 dpi and 300 pixels wide), but need to change the street name to match the photo. The date will be the same for all those of a given month/year. The problem I have, is that if I set the first in a series to be 0402JSt, with actions, all of them become 0402JSt. I know this sounds confusing but does it make sense?
