Recently I had some problems with my Mac G3 (beige model) and had it in for repair. After getting it back, I had to reinstall some of my software including PhotoShop 6. Everything seemed fine, except when I open some images I get a message that says, "The document’s embedded color profile does not match the current RGB working space. Embedded: Kodak Srgb, Working sRGB IEC61996-2.1. How do you want to proceed? I then have 3 options 1) Use the embedded profile, 2) convert documents colors to the working space and 3) discard the embedded profile. What does this mean, and how can I get around this?

Yes this happens to me to but its really bad if you didnt saved your file and your nearly finished, but if its the right resolution then I just move the error window a bit and make a printscreen

Huh? Now why the hell would you have to Print screen in that situation? Can someone fill me in? Ahhh, ANYWAY: If you are seeing that on everything you open, basically all you have to do is go into your color settings and change it to "Kodak Srgb" and you won't see that again. But you'll not go wrong if you select "Use the embedded profile" |

I've had that problem when opening downloaded stock photos, but I just select use the mebedded profile and resave it as a .jpg again on my comp and it doesn't give me the error message anymore. however, i have no idea if that in anyway will degrade the quality of the image, therefore i would wait for an expert to give you the correct way to fix the problem. graphire, he's trying to open the file... as in, opening a saved image... Think about it, why would you do a print screen on a saved image... |

>all you have to do is go into your color >settings and change it to "Kodak Srgb" and you won't see that again. Kodak Srgb is not an option. My options are: Monitor RGB colorsync RGB Adobe RGB (1998) Apple RGB ColorMatch RGB sRGB IEC61966-21 |

If I'm not mistaken you can save a color profile FROM an opened image. Chances are, you haven't got something installed that you did have before so you haven't installed the kodak profile. |
