well like on the banner of this forum, it has a 3D "T"... thats what I want to become

That was not done in Photoshop, at least I don't think. The only 3D tool in Photoshop is the 3D transform filter. While you can make paths within it and make 3D objects that look similar, you can't exactly specify anything more than pre-made rectangles and cylinders. So its basically useless except for making occassional background effects. Here's a link to a tutorial explaining how to perform this in Photoshop. http://www.edevcafe.com/docs/33.html The only way to truly make something 3D like that is to use a 3D rendering program, which is what I'm guessing the person did to create that T. The effect is usually known as "extrude". You can do it with paths that you export out of Photoshop as illustrator .ai files. |
