Ok, here's a goody! lol

I'm using Photoshop 7.

I get into the Filter/Render/Lighting Effects and I spend some time carefully configuring the settings and placing my lighting "cursors" to get the ultimate effect. Now I want to save it, here's where the troubles start!

When I try to save, I get some kind of error message telling me that it can't complete the operation. Why is this happening.

When I got that, I saved the PSD file and thought that even though I couldn't save the setting for the lighting, they would be there when I reopened the document.

Not the case, I was left with that "yellow" default deal and all my settings were gone. Good thing I wrote them down!

Anybody got any advice? Don't say reinstall, I've tried that too many times and it didn't work! lol

try unchecking "use global light" and it should keep your settings.

See if this helps. I tried what you suggested, but it didn't work. Still scratching my head over this one! This picture has the lighting setting toggled on, but I tried it without it on and it did the same thing. I'm submitting this just in case maybe there was something I was missing. Thanks for any help.....

Its either low resources on your machiine or a bad prefs file I would say.

If you have a ton of stuff running on the machine reboot and "just" launch photoshop and try it.

To trash the prefs file (photoshop will make another one apon restarting the aplication)

exit photoshop

Trash your Photoshop "prefs" file (search you machine for "prefs")

restart photoshop

and it should work
