I'm looking for a way to make some realistic edges for some pages in an old book image I have. I've retouched up the main body of the page, but the edges of the book (all of the pages laid one on top of the other on the sides) are blurred bigtime. Is there a way to either touch up these blurred pages or make the effect myself without making it look fake? Thanks guys |

select the area that's blurred and choose the 'sharpen filter'. This highlights the areas blurred by making the pixel colours deeper and more different to the ones beside it. However, you can only do the sharpen filter a few times until it really looks crap... So...get out your cloning/stamp tool and start cloning the top part with the edge of the book further down the cover. Clone the top and side until they meet, creating a perfect edge. Now with the material under the border whihc is still blurry, use the clone tool again and just colour it all in by copying the texture. If you're having problems, just post the picture.. |
