Those shiny hair things is possibly called tentacles and if you perform a search in the forum on that name you'll come up with a numerous amount of hits. possible usable tut here... but it won't be perfect, you'll have to experiment a li'l on ye own to get it good...

Hello again Fat-Rat. You can make it red in different ways, depending on what your preferences are. One way (easÃest I guess) is to use a 3:d party filter like eye candy/glass ??? An other way could be to for example fill the tentacle with chrome and then colorize it using image/Adjust/...>hue/saturation. I bet'cha there is better ways, I just mention some easy ways. You'll have to experiment your way to it, I think. Thats what I do. I guess I don't do it right or the easiest way all the time, but I am learning the hole time... Anybody with more experiance who wanna give Fatrat advice ? What you asks 'bout the shearfilter could depend on the fact that you pro'bly have your tentacleshape selected when doin it ??? Go to the layer where your tentacle is deselect it and shear the hole layer instead, then you're able to shear it some more. |

For the shiny red thing: Create a new layer and position it above the tentacle layer. While having the new layer selected Ctrl+click the tentacle layer. You should now see a marquee surrounding it. Fill the selected area with red and then deselect. Go to the layers palette and select Color or Overlay or Hue (i forgot :\) as the Layer mode. One of those will successfully change the color of it. Now merge the two layers together (while having the top layer selected press Ctrl+E). Go to Image->Adjust->Brightness/Contrast. Move the brightness up a bit and jack up the contrast. Maybe 50+ would do the trick. That should give it that shiny look. |
