Easy: How do you change image color?

I know this has probably been answered before, but I just couldn't find it anywhere! :o

What I need to know is this:

How do you change the image color of some image (for example this text: http://freehost.bqinternet.com/imedia/change.gif) into a different color.

In otherwords... Applying a color "dye" to the image via PS.

make a new layer, fill it with a color, and change the layerMode to "hue" or "color".
