i am trying to create a similar effect to the one in the link below. i have tried everything that i can think of, but to no avail. i am not wanting to recreate this persons work or anything, but i love the effects in the piece. if anyone knows how to do this or knows of any tutorials i would greatly appreciate their help. i just need a good solid starting off point from which i can develop my own works and the same old 8 tutorials that every page has on how to make spheres and rings arent helping me any. thanks in advance for any info. check this out |

Paavo- first i want to thank you for replying. i figured that it was just gradients and many layers, and i have tried that, but have yet to come up with anything that even remotely looks right. that is why i was hoping for a more detailed explanation, but not necessarily a step by step walk through of the process. there is nothing particularly special about it, but being that i am not a PS guru, accomplishing this is not necessarily a simple task. i appreciate you taking the time to offer your insight and i hope that perhaps you or someone else can offer any more information that might help me to achieve this. peace, kryptyk |

I love plug-ins. There, I said it Here is a link to a free plug-in that will help you make something similar (or at least some of the effect) to the picture you like so much. http://www.geocities.com/thephotoshopping/Photoshop_Plugins/DragonFly/DragonFly.htm I think that this plug-in and some soft colors, some duplication and mirror (flip Horizontal/Vertical) will get you there |

pixelmax- thank you for the link. i downloaded the plug in and it is pretty badass, but when it comes to creating the shapes and such that i need, it is pretty much a shot in the dark with plugin. very cool nonetheless and i am still having fun with it anyways. i appreciate the help. peace, kryptyk |
