lit/glow effect in display, interfaces, text

Hi there,

First time on this forum. Glad I found this wonderful photoshop resource! Anyhow.. just wondering if anyone might have some tips or suggestions on how a lot of the lit/glow effect for interfaces elements, text, etc that you see at teknoel.com was done. I am assuming it was photoshop/AE. He has done some really great work, especially on the phantom menace interfaces.. pretty cool. I realy like that lit/glow effect and I have some ideas on how to achieve it but just wanted to see what some of you photoshop experts might think.
