I need help adding a drop shadow effect to a picture to post on the Web. I have the picture the size I want and I go to add the the effect. When I move the layer to see if the effect worked it's their. However, when I save it, it's gone.

Can someone please walk me through the steps of adding a drop shadow to a picture so I can post it to the web.

Thanks everyone.

This is my first post.

make sure you are on the same layer you have your picture on
goto Layer > Layer Style > Drop Shadow (top of photoshop)

then just mess around with the setting until you see fit. then save your picture... "Save as Web" for gif or jpg or "Save As" for pdf file. Most likey since you do want to put it on your website save as web is what you want. hope that works out

if the image is cropped to size.... there isn't room for a "drop shadow" you have to have room around the outside of the image.
